You may think we are taking ittsy bittsy baby steps here in our discovery of who God is and how to focus on Him. But we are laying the foundation which everything else stands. Without these first few facts in place, the building of our life of faith will constantly be shaken and crumbling.
In this day when the probability of false Christs rising (Matthew 24:23-26), we need to have a plumb line of criteria to test their claims. The Word of God is our plumb line. Both the written and the living Word-Yeshua. Holy Spirit, in us, has the job of recreating us in the image of Christ (Philippians 1:6; Romans 8:28-29) and revealing the true Christ to us (John 15:16). He constantly puts God’s word before us to show us the way, otherwise, we’d be running in the dark, running after men instead of God.
So, let’s look again at Genesis 1:1-5: In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.
3 Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light. 4 And God saw the light, that it was good; and God divided the light from the darkness. 5 God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. So the evening and the morning were the first day.
Darkness can only exist where light is not present. Once light appears, regardless of how small, it causes the darkness to flee. It cannot stay.
Yeshua is the Creator of all things. Light is the first thing created: God-Elohim-said, “Let there be light.” This ‘light,’ on Day one, was present before the appearance of the sun, moon, and stars on Day four. So what light He talking about?
In John 1:1-5 gives us a hint: In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. 4In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. 5 And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend (overpower or absorb) it.
John goes on to say that he, John, is not the Light but that he came to bear witness of the Light–the true Light which gives light to every man coming into the world. (John 1:9)
In this statement, the Light is for EVERY man–Jew, Gentile, believer, and non-believer, etc.
In verse 4 that Life and Light are connected.
In John 8:12, “Jesus spoke to them again, saying, ‘I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.’”
So light brings life, sight and sound, but it also provides insight, wisdom, revelation, and power.
We’ve hardly touched how much the power of Light rules our world today. Still I believe we can say that the Light He spoke into existence on Day one was the life energy needed in every single thing created. Today we refer to this in part as energy, or frequency. While science says that energy comes from the sun, they haven’t been able to pin down where the sun came from. Everything created has energy, frequency. Light and Life are present in every single thing. Still, science can only tell us how it acts in all the various forms of creation.

Without light, none of us would exist. Our Creator God, Yeshua HaMashiach, enables us to move and breathe, to hear and see, to understand and create. Light frequencies flash from our brains to every other part of our body causing them to work properly.
I recently heard a message by T.D. Jakes. In it he said, “If we are sick or need deliverance, rather than speaking long prayers, all we really need to say is, ‘Let there be Light. Light overcomes every darkness. It can’t stay where Light exists.'”
Let’s go about our days this week focusing on Him and releasing His Light. “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” (Matthew 5:16)
Yeshua HaMashiach is the Light of the world. The world needs His Light and we are Light carriers (Matthew 5:14-16). Shine on my friends and cause the darkness to flee.
