Monday Manna – My Word Stands Forever

monday-manna3As I sat gazing at our snowy landscape yesterday, I shared with Holy Spirit, “It looks so beautiful out.  Help me focus on Your gift of beauty and not entertain worry or frustration.  Thank You.”

“Look at Psalm 33,” He said.

And so I began reading out loud.  Rejoice in the LORD, O ye righteous: for praise is comely for the upright. Praise the LORD with harp: sing unto Him with the psaltery and an instrument of ten strings. Sing unto Him a new song; play skilfully with a loud noise. For the word of the LORD is right; and all His works are done in truth.

I could read no further.  That last verse, verse 4, stopped me in my tracks.  I re-read it: For the word of the LORD is right, and all His works are done in truth.  Over and over I repeated this quietly and meditated on what it meant.

Then, these thoughts came: My word stands when all else falls to ruin.  My word is surer than Everest.  My word is unshakable and even when tested by fire, it remains steadfast and unchanged.

Read My word, meditate on it.  Put it into practice and see if it is not durable and true beyond any other counsel or promise.  Heaven and earth will pass away, but My word will remain.  It carries a lifetime–eternal guarantee.  It works in every circumstance and it will not fail.

It will go against your reasoning.  It will stir your emotions, frustrate you and cause you to question My wisdom.  But when put to the test in faith, it will always prove true.  ALWAYS!!

~~~
Isaiah 40:8 The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God stands forever.
Matthew 24:35   Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.
Today, where fake news is proclaimed as truth and even Christian leaders say the Bible is no longer relevant; when good is said to be evil and evil good; when we are in need of something solid to stand on and apply to our lives and decisions, God’s word stands alone.
If you haven’t picked up His word lately or have only been reading it mechanically to fulfill a goal, repent and ask Holy Spirit to lead you.  You may only read one verse or four like I did today, but let it resonate and transform you.  His word is truth, it is life-changing, and it can be totally trusted.
Shalom my friends.
