The Lord had me listening to more of Graham Cooke last week. One of the things I heard Graham say was, “I work on peace and rest every day.” I knew God was calling me to take another visit to the powerful word of Shalom. So, I plunged into a search for peace scriptures
Shalom/Peace is NOT just a time when everything is quiet. Shalom describes the Presence of God, where everything is functioning the way God intended. It means to make whole, complete. It means to restore something to the way God intended: health, safety, provision, and relationships. It means divine blessings, shaken together and running over.
ALERT—This post is full of scripture. Eat slowly, and return to the table often.
Numbers 6:24-26 “The Lord bless you and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face shine upon you,
And be gracious to you;
26 The Lord lift up His countenance upon you,
And give you PEACE (SHALOM).”
Peace is available to us 24/7, 365 because our Savior is the Prince of Peace and He lives IN us.
Isaiah 26:3 gives us the formula for Shalom. You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You.
John 14:27 New King James Version peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
John 14:27 Amplified Bible, Classic Edition Peace I leave with you; My [own] peace I now give and bequeath to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. [Stop allowing yourselves to be agitated and disturbed; and do not permit yourselves to be fearful and intimidated and cowardly and unsettled.]
John 16:32-33 Amplified Bible, Classic Edition But take notice, the hour is coming, and it has arrived, when you will all be dispersed and scattered, every man to his own home, leaving Me alone. Yet I am not alone, because the Father is with Me. 33I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace and confidence. In the world you have tribulation and trials and distress and frustration; but be of good cheer [take courage; be confident, certain, undaunted]! For I have overcome the world. [I have deprived it of power to harm you and have conquered it for you.]
Jesus received peace because He knew Abba was with Him. We have (Elohim—God) Abba, Jesus, and Holy Spirit living in us. Jesus overcame the enemy, and nothing by any means can hurt Him. Since He dwells in us and we dwell in Him, we are overcomers too. The enemy is a defeated foe.
Colossians 3:15 New King James Version says: And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful.
Colossians 3:15 Amplified Bible, Classic Edition And let the peace (soul harmony which comes) from Christ rule (act as umpire continually) in your hearts [deciding and settling with finality all questions that arise in your minds, in that peaceful state] to which as [members of Christ’s] one body you were also called [to live]. And be thankful (appreciative), [giving praise to God always].
Because of Jesus, we are more than conquerors.
Romans 8:31 Amplified Bible, Classic Edition What then shall we say to [all] this? If God is for us, who [can be] against us? [Who can be our foe, if God is on our side?]
THERE IS NEVER A NEED FOR FEAR
The Champion of champions lives IN US.
Psalm 91:1 Amplified Bible, Classic Edition He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall remain stable and fixed under the shadow of the Almighty [Whose power no foe can withstand].
Isaiah 54:17 New King James Version No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgment you shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is from Me,” says the Lord.
Acts 17:28 New King James Version For in Him we live and move and have our being, as also some of your own poets have said, ‘For we are also His offspring.’
John 15:7 Amplified Bible, Classic Edition If you live in Me [abide vitally united to Me] and My words remain in you and continue to live in your hearts, ask whatever you will, and it shall be done for you.
Galatians 2:20 Amplified Bible, Classic EditionI have been crucified with Christ [in Him I have shared His crucifixion]; it is no longer I who live, but Christ (the Messiah) lives in me; and the life I now live in the body I live by faith in (by adherence to and reliance on and complete trust in) the Son of God, Who loved me and gave Himself up for me.
When we completely trust, lean on, God 100% to meet our needs, and direct our lives–not knowing ANY of the details of going forward, we will live in complete peace regardless of the storm around us
May you experience His peace today and every day. Jesus is our Peace.
Shalom, Shalom.
