This is the 2nd in our Focus series. Holy Spirit is emphasizing our need to keep our eyes on Yeshua/Jesus in order to stay in step with God’s plans for this new year. If we are called to focus on Him, we need to know who He is. Let’s begin at the beginning.
Yeshua is our Creator.
You may ask, “Why do we need to know Him as Creator? Isn’t something else more important?” In my opinion, we need to know where we came from and why we were created. Any artist or inventor has a purpose behind what they create and they fine tune their artistry or invention until it meets their purpose. And any inventor, in particular, knows how his or her invention works best to fulfill its purpose. If we need an owners manual, it would be best to go back to the One who created us.
Not all creators are trust-worthy or ones we would turn to in times of trouble. But our Creator is far and above all others. Let’s get started.
Are you ready for a Bible study of proof texts: I could wax poetic, but I’d rather let the Word stand on its own.
Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
John 1:1-3 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. FYI–In case you don’t know, Yeshua/Jesus is the Word.
Colossians 1:15-19 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. 16 For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. 17 And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist. 18 And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence.
Revelation 4:11 “You are worthy, O Lord, (Yeshua HaMachiach)
To receive glory and honor and power;
For You created all things,
And by Your will they exist and were created.”
There are many more scriptures I could add, but I’ll let these suffice.
As we face this new year of possibilities and promises, times of testing and trial, it is helpful to know our Creator and His credentials.
Let’s focus on these truths:
Isaiah 40:25-26, 28-31
“To whom then will you liken Me,
Or to whom shall I be equal?” says the Holy One.
26 Lift up your eyes on high,
And see who has created these things,
Who brings out their host by number;
He calls them all by name,
By the greatness of His might
And the strength of His power;
Not one is missing.
28 Have you not known?
Have you not heard?
The everlasting God, the Lord,
The Creator of the ends of the earth,
Neither faints nor is weary.
His understanding is unsearchable.
29 He gives power to the weak,
And to those who have no might He increases strength.
30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary,
And the young men shall utterly fall,
31 But those who wait on the Lord
Shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings like eagles,
They shall run and not be weary,
They shall walk and not faint.
And this one:
Jeremiah 32:17 ‘Ah, Lord God! Behold, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and outstretched arm. There is nothing too hard for You.
Yeshua HaMashiach is our Creator and the source of our strength. Oh my goodness, this is going to be a great year focusing on Him because He is full of good news and TRUTH we can hang onto through any trial or temptation.
Keep looking up. Our God is with us.
