Have you ever awakened with a song playing in your head? It is a common occurrence in my life. The only thing different about this morning, three years ago, is that the song wasn’t a praise song or hymn.
Before I barely opened my eyes, I heard this song:
♪ Put another nickel in,
In that nickelodeon
All I want is lovin’ you
And music, music, music
I’ll do anything for you
Anything you want Me to.
All I want is lovin’ you
And music, music, music
Closer, My dear come closer
The night is growing dark
And you will see
I just want you close to Me
So put another nickel in
In that nickelodeon
All I want is lovin’ you
And music, music, music. (a song from the 1940’s by Teresa Brewer)
Once I realized what the song was, I said out loud, “Abba, what a strange song. What are You telling me? The only thing that connects is a conversation I heard yesterday. A lady said that when was frustrated with knowing how to pray and asking You about it. You told here, ‘Just worship.’ Abba, I am frustrated in my prayer life too.”
Before I said another word, this bit of chorus played in my head:
♪ Through it all
Through it all
My eyes are on You
Through it all
Through it all it is well. (from the song, “It Is Well,” by Bethel Music)
Yes, Abba, I think I get it. If I keep my eyes on You, my frustration lifts and You set me free in joy. Right?
“Yes. Angels love to be with you in joy. Joy is the overflow of life sold out to Me.
“It’s not about great intensity, it’s about great joy. Joy will break every chain. Joy in who I am. Joy in what I’ve done. Joy in the power and authority you have as My children.
This is a family matter. My family rolls on Joy, unspeakable and full of glory…Music, Music, Music.
There is no want in My kingdom of Joy. There is no pain, no fear, no burden. Joy lifts, recreates and sets free.
The joy of the Lord is your strength. Joy is a magnet. Angels love to be with you in joy. Joy is the overflow of a life sold out to Me. Only those who walk with Me truly have Joy.
Where is your focus? Who are you following Me? My path is not always easy but there is always joy.”
2 Timothy 1:12
For this reason, I also suffer these things, nevertheless I am not ashamed, for I am Know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep what I have committed to Him until that Day.
