Eleven years ago Holy Spirit and I were discussing I Corinthians 2:16 in my Amplified Bible:  For who has known or understood the mind (the counsels and purposes) of the Lord so as to guide and instruct Him and give Him knowledge? But we have the mind of Christ (the Messiah) and do hold the thoughts (feelings and purposes) of His heart.

“Holy Spirit,” I asked, “having the mind of Christ is more than intellect, facts, strategy, then, right?”

Yes, it’s vision and anointing and power.  Thoughts reap actions and that’s where the power of God is manifest.  As a man thinks in his heart so is he.  As a man thinks—his thoughts determine his actions—so is he.

 That is why you need to be renewed in the “spirit” of your mind. (Ephesians 4:23)  The spirit of your mind must be renewed by association with Me, the Holy Spirit because I have the thoughts of God.  The closer you get to Me the more you know Me, the more your mind is renewed and you think My thoughts and do My will and are able to move in My power because you believe.  When My thoughts become your thoughts, unbelief no longer has a place in you.

Confessing, reading, meditating on the Word is good, but I must ignite it with My presence for it to birth power and life into you.

Jesus said in Matthew 11:29, “Learn of Me for I am meek and lowly of heart and you will find rest in your souls.”

“Jesus then, as a man, was meek and lowly of heart.  He was fully submitted to You, Holy Spirit.  He didn’t do anything until He saw You do it through the Father and didn’t speak anything until He heard You speak through the Father.  The rest in His soul came as a result of complete surrender to You.”

“He knew He didn’t have to come up with anything on His own.  He didn’t need to worry or be fearful because it wasn’t His responsibility to do Anything other than follow Your lead and You would provide ALL He needed to accomplish the Father’s will as He leaned completely on You. ”

“He didn’t have any struggle or labor in His mind, will or emotions—AT PEACE!!”

Yes, and He also didn’t have to worry about being wrong because He was following My lead and I was leading Him in ALL TRUTH according to the will of the Father.

I admit that I still need to be reminded of these truths often. But with them in mind, we can say, “Faith and Peace come out of intimacy with the Lord moving us into complete obedience to God’s will.”  When we are completely and joyfully obedient, every need is covered regardless of the circumstances.  We don’t have to figure it out, be anxious about it, sweat and strive to put it together, or fear that it won’t glorify God.

Psalm 51:10 Create in me a clean heart, O God, And renew a steadfast spirit within me.

Let’s ask God to renew us with His purpose and joyfully advance in His will with praise and thanksgiving.
