Monday Manna – He is Leading Us

monday-manna3Do you have a prophetic word over your life or some direction you know is ahead, yet the details aren’t materializing?  Does frustration and despair threaten to overtake you at times because you so want to move forward?

I was pondering these kinds of things one morning and asked Holy Spirit about them. Holy Spirit led me to Psalm 139. I admit to being hesitant at first, because I’ve studied and meditated this psalm at length.  But these are the verses He highlighted  in my Amplified Bible when I obeyed:

3) You (God) comprehend (sift, sort out, winnow) my path and my lying down and are acquainted with all my ways.

16) Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed, and in Your book they were all written, the days fashioned for me, when as yet there were none of them.

Here is what I wrote in my journal: Abba, You sifted and sorted my path.  You looked at it from every angle and in wisdom, set my way and my lying down.  You saw where rest would be needed and marked those times on my calendar too.

Before I was ever put together in my mother’s womb, You saw my DNA and knew how I would come into this life.  What strengths and weaknesses, what gifts and passions.  You took all of this into consideration and wrote the perfect plan for my life in Your book.

Abba, forgive me for trying to micro manage my life when You already have the perfect plan. May I enter into true rest in Your sovereignty and allow You to be God in every area of my life.

The tune of this old hymn came from afar off and grew in intensity, until the words accompanied.

♪ He leadeth me, O blessed thought

O words with heavenly comfort fraught

What ere I do, where ere I be

Still tis God’s hand that leadeth me.

(Chorus) He leadeth me, He leadeth me,

By His own hand He leadeth me

His faithful follower I would be

For by His hand He leadeth me.

Sometimes mid scenes of deepest gloom

Sometimes where Eden’s bowers bloom

By waters calm or troubled sea

Still tis God’s hand that leadeth me.

(Chorus)

(Lyrics: Joseph Gilmore, 1862. Music: William Bradbury, 1864.)

Rest in His sovereignty my friend.  He does know us completely.  He does have a plan for each of us and He is always leading us in triumph, even when we feel like we are standing still.

Have a good week. Shalom ❤
