Listen, listen. Do you hear it?
Hear what, Lord?
The rush of water. The waterfall is just ahead.
I am suddenly caught up in an internal virtual reality. I am deep in a pine forest. A heavy mist filled with the fragrance of evergreen envelops all I see. Sunlight sends shafts of glory through the mist. My feet sink gently into the deep pine needle carpet and the sound of rushing water calls from the distance still hidden by the beauty that surrounds me. I’m tempted to stay and drink in the peace, the utter grace of this place, but I must go on. I must see it. I must join in its song. I must, I must. I’ve journeyed a lifetime to reach this place. this place of complete immersion, complete surrender, complete joy.
Are you coming?
Yes, Lord.
“I am waiting,” He said. “It won’t be long now. You don’t need to run. Enjoy the journey. There is a purpose every step. There are memories to make and cherish. Treasures to be found. No need to rush. We are going together. I am setting the pace. Just stay beside Me. It doesn’t matter where you are in your world–your location is not an issue. What matters is where you are with Me in My world. Rest. All is well!”
“Listen to the power, the song of the falls. Let it’s melody invade your soul and dismantle every fear, every stronghold of self.”
Words from 1″Hind’s Feet on High Places,” play over in my head. I hear the waterfall saying, “I delight to do Your will,” as it plunges over the top into the depths below.
Lord, catch me up in this song, until every thread of activity or thought I entertain is permeated with this declaration. I DELIGHT TO DO YOUR WILL!! Let it be so Lord.
It will Beloved. It will be so! And truly it will be a delight for you and for Me.
