In our American culture, stillness is often labeled boring or worthless. Yet, on May 1, 2009, Holy Spirit gave me heaven’s perspective. I woke that morning with the chorus– Blessed be the name of the Lord, Blessed be the name of the Lord… (‘Blessed be Your Name’ – Matt Redman)
“Truly Lord, You give and take away, but You are forever Holy, Love, Truth—You change not,” I murmured as I took my place in my prayer room.
In a vision, I see Jesus sitting on an overturned rowboat on the shore of the Sea of Galilee. It’s sunny and warm and the sea is still and smooth as glass. I take a seat beside Him. Gulls swoop and soar overhead. The water laps the shore in rhythm.
“Be still and know that I am God.” He said. “Be still, Calm yourself. Put to death the works of the flesh. Be still. It’s not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit. Be still. Calm yourself. Rest. All is well. Don’t listen to the voice of the enemy prognosticators. They are blind fools leading the blind. Be still and know that I AM GOD. What I will do, I will do

There is a way that seems right, but I the Lord direct your steps. Be still. I am directing. There are doors open before you that you will pass without seeing unless you are still. Full dependence on Me to provide. Full surrender of your need to make things happen.
Be still, be renewed, be a life absorber and a life giver. Be still.
The gulls cannot eat from an agitated sea. People cannot eat of My Presence in you when you are agitated.
Laugh at the enemy. Lie down and be still. Rest in My full ability and desire to meet EVERY need. Be still and know that I Am God.
