Seek My Face

Holy Spirit redirected me this week. There is a message He wants us to get before we go on with the Tabernacle.

I do not know about you, but I feel the need to draw closer to God. I want to know Him more than I have known Him before.

The voices around us are getting louder and louder. The only way I find to combat their threats and deception is to spend time with Abba and spend time in His word. The more I do, the easier it is to turn to the Truth and do what He tells me. Plus, I can hear and understand Him more.

Several days ago, I was asking Holy Spirit to lead me back to deeper intimacy with Abba. “He deserves my attention and I need to do my part by being available,” I told Him. I knew I could not do this alone. Let’s face it, I can’t do anything without Him.

So, I asked Him, “Is there a scripture I need to read for direction?”

Immediately, I heard, “Seek Me and you will find Me.”

So, I opened my Bible and concordance and started looking up scriptures about seeking God. This is one of the best ways to figure out what scripture means. God defines His word through other scriptures on the same subject. A good concordance is one of the best Bible tools any believer can have. Here are some of the texts I found.

Psalm 63:1 O God, You are my God; Early will I seek You;  My soul thirsts for You;  My flesh longs for You  In a dry and thirsty land  Where there is no water.

Daniel 9:3 Then I set my face toward the Lord God to make request by prayer and supplications, with fasting, sackcloth, and ashes.

Psalm 119:2 Blessed are those who keep His testimonies, Who seek Him with the whole heart!

Deuteronomy 4:29 But from there you will seek the Lord your God, and you will find Him if you seek Him with all your heart and with all your soul.

2 Chronicles 7:14  if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

2 Chronicles 19:3 Nevertheless good things are found in you, in that you have removed the wooden images from the land and have prepared your heart to seek God.

2 Chronicles 15:2 And he went out to meet Asa, and said to him: “Hear me, Asa, and all Judah and Benjamin. The Lord is with you while you are with Him. If you seek Him, He will be found by you; but if you forsake Him, He will forsake you.

1 Chronicles 16:10-11 Glory in His holy name;  Let the hearts of those rejoice who seek the Lord! Seek the Lord and His strength; Seek His face evermore!

Psalm 27:8 When You said, “Seek My face,”  My heart said to You, “Your face, Lord, I will seek.”

This is last scripture pulled me up short and sent me back to my concordance. For the past 40 years of my life, when people asked me, “If you could have anything in the world, what would you want most?”

My answer every time has been, “ To see His face.” One glance at His face would ignite full submission to Him for life. I’ve watched others transform by seeing His face.

But what does it mean to “Seek My face?”

Seek— Strong’s Concordance #1245: בָּקַשׁ bâqash, baw-kash’; a primitive root; to search out (by any method, specifically in worship or prayer); by implication, to strive after, request, inquire. It denotes seeking someone’s presence, especially the Lord’s.

The letters from left to right are:

Bet/Vet 2 = Divide or Division Means: House/Family; God’s word, God’s dwelling place (Temple) Son of God, physical tent or body.

Qof 100 = Election of God’s chosen ones, set apart as holy. Means: Holiness, ConsecratedDivide, sun on horizon, Back of the Head, Make a Complete Circle, End of a Cycle, Final, Behind, Dome

Shin 300 = Victory of good over evil, Holy Spirit. Means: Teeth, Fire, God Almighty, the Fire of God to consume all His enemies, God Devour, Destroy, Something Sharp.

SEEK then, is: To have a strong desire for God’s House,  God’s Word,  God’s Holiness, and  God’s Fire to consume the enemies of your soul.

He asks us to SEEK His FACE. Now what could that possibly mean?

Let’s take a look at the Hebrew words used and the letters.

FACE is Strong’s Concordance #6440 with the primitive root #6437. פָּנָה pânâh, paw-naw’; a primitive root; to turn; by implication, to face, i.e. appear, look, appear, behold.  It means to be in the presence of or to be before. And here is how it is spelled.

Pey/Fey 80 = New Governmental Order. Means: Mouth, to Speak, Open or Beginning

Nun 50 = Restoration, Holy Spirit, Jubilee. Means: Life or Action

Hey 5 = Grace. Means: Revelation – 5 is the number of Torah, Behold, Give Attention, unfold or look upon – (if it comes at the end of a word: the meaning is based on the letter before)

So, MY FACE means:

Come before Me wanting:

  • My new government—My rule
  • My Life—ready to do life My Way
  • My Grace—instead of complaining about how hard it is
  • My Revelation-instead of human reasoning that pulls you away from obedience to My Word.

David said–“When You said, ‘Seek My face,’  My heart said to You, ‘Your face, Lord, I will seek.'” Psalm 27:8

So, are we ready to say,

“Lord, I want Your rule in my life. I want to do life Your way. Forgive me for complaining and help me lean into Your grace.  Yes, Lord, I want Your revelation. My human reasoning isn’t getting me nearer to You. Lord, it is Your Face that I seek.”

Yahweh is looking for complete devotion to Him. He knows that the only true joyful and abundant life available will come through following Him without reservation. His Kingdom is designed to be a place of the greatest joy we’ve ever known. All His commandments or instructions, if followed, promise us that kind of abundant life. God is not a liar, it is not a bait and switch.

“Whoever would draw near to God must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who seek Him” Hebrews 11:6. God, Himself, is our greatest reward. And when we have Him, we have everything.

He gave us Holy Spirit to lead us and keep us on His path. Let’s seek His face and receive more than we ever dreamed—intimacy with the King of the universe.

Shalom ♥
