When life gets complicated, I often remind myself what is going on behind the scenes. In order to reset my internal narrative, I declare out loud—God is always leading me in triumph. This declaration is based on 2 Corinthians 2:14.
Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place. NKJV
Yesterday, Holy Spirit led me to take a deeper look at this scripture. So, I read numerous translations and found bits and pieces that more fully clarified my identity in Christ and what the fragrance is that all of us are diffusing.
Here is my personalized paraphrase:
Thanks be to God, who is leading me as a prisoner set free in Christ, in a victory parade. And through me, He is releasing the sweet fragrance that comes from knowing Him.
~~
We are prisoners set free! In Him, we are victorious! When that inner dialogue tries to convince us otherwise, let’s remind him Who we belong to and what He is doing in our lives.
We have the capacity to re-present all that He is wherever we go. And He loves to display us as His trophies so the world can see who He is and gain the benefits of knowing Him.
Knowing Jesus Christ and being one with Him releases a fragrance of His presence through us wherever we go. There is peace, joy, wisdom, faith, love, self-control, patience, etc.
May we walk with our heads held high, regardless of the circumstances. The world needs to know Him, and God chose us to be virtual models of His person.
Shalom ♥
