We’ve looked at Commandments, Statutes, Testimonies, and Precepts. Today we are going to take a look at Judgments. The word judgement #4941 is used 296 times in the Bible. And here again, the letters used to spell the work, tells us what the word means. How God uses the letters to define the word constantly amazes me.
Let’s look at the Strong’s definitions.
- A verdict
- The act of deciding a case
- A sentence or decision
- A formal decree
- The penalty
In Hebrew the word Judgments looks like this:
And here is the Hebrew breakdown with the letters right to left.
Mem 40= Trial, Testing, Tribulation. Means Womb, Water from the womb, Cleansing water, flowing water that brings life, Mighty, Massive Chaos, Humility, taking the low place, hidden relationship with God.
Shin 300 = Victory of good over evil, Holy Spirit. Means: Teeth, Fire, God Almighty, the Fire of God to consume all His enemies, God Devours, Destroys, Something Sharp.
Pey 80 = New Governmental Order. Means: Mouth, to Speak, Open or Beginning.
Tet 9 = Judgment. Means: Choice, Basket, Snake, Surround or Twist
JUDGEMENT: (Tet) God Almighty makes the Choice to bring Judgment. (Pey) He Declares His Governmental order and then (Mem) comes like Mighty Cleansing water, (Shin) Destroying His enemies and (Mem) bringing Life.
Here are some scriptures where the word ‘Judgments’ is used. Read them over and see where God is declaring what He is going to do and what the results will be.
Exodus 6:6 Therefore say to the children of Israel: ‘I am the Lord; I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, I will rescue you from their bondage, and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with great judgments.
Leviticus 18:5 You shall therefore keep My statutes and My judgments, which if a man does, he shall live by them: I am the Lord.
Psalm 103:6 KJV The Lord executeth righteousness and judgment for all that are oppressed.
Zephaniah 3:15 The Lord has taken away your judgments, He has cast out your enemy. The King of Israel, the Lord, is in your midst; you shall see disaster no more.
The word Judgment is not something to be feared unless you are in sin. God’s judgments bring blessing to those who are following Him.
When all is said and done and God’s judgments are executed on the wicked. Righteousness will rule for eternity.
Revelation 15:4 Who shall not fear You, O Lord, and glorify Your name? For You alone are holy. For all nations shall come and worship before You, For Your judgments have been manifested.”
Revelation 19:1-3 After these things I heard a loud voice of a great multitude in heaven, saying, “Alleluia! Salvation and glory and honor and power belong to the Lord our God! 2 For true and righteous are His judgments, because He has judged the great harlot who corrupted the earth with her fornication; and He has avenged on her the blood of His servants shed by her.” 3 Again they said, “Alleluia! Her smoke rises up forever and ever!”
Many times God speaks judgments through His prophets. In one instance He gave king Nebuchadnezzar a dream. In it were strong indications of judgment but Nebuchadnezzar had to have Daniel interpret the dream. You can find this story in Daniel 4.
Nebuchadnezzar was pretty proud of himself and all he accumulated in wealth. But God was not happy with him at all.
Nebuchadnezzar saw a beautiful tree in the dream. There was a declaration from heaven to cut the tree down but leave a stump. Nebuchadnezzar was concerned about what this meant.
After Daniel heard the dream, he said, “this is the interpretation, O king, and this is the decree of the Most High, which has come upon my lord the king: They shall drive you from men, your dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field, and they shall make you eat grass like oxen. They shall wet you with the dew of heaven, and seven times shall pass over you, till you know that the Most High rules in the kingdom of men, and gives it to whomever He chooses. Daniel 4:24-25
A year later, every word of the dream came to pass and Nebuchadnezzar. It was this experience of judgment that gave Nebuchadnezzar a new perspective. Daniel 4:34-37
34 And at the end of the time I, Nebuchadnezzar, lifted my eyes to heaven, and my understanding returned to me; and I blessed the Most High and praised and honored Him who lives forever:
For His dominion is an everlasting dominion,
And His kingdom is from generation to generation.
35 All the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing;
He does according to His will in the army of heaven
And among the inhabitants of the earth.
No one can restrain His hand
Or say to Him, “What have You done?”
36 At the same time my reason returned to me, and for the glory of my kingdom, my honor and splendor returned to me. My counselors and nobles resorted to me, I was restored to my kingdom, and excellent majesty was added to me. 37 Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and extol and honor the King of heaven, all of whose works are truth, and His ways justice. And those who walk in pride He is able to put down.
Nebuchadnezzar was permitted to live a while longer but many who receive the judgment of God do not. God is love 100% and He is also Righteous. He does not permit wickedness to rule indefinitely. He is the ultimate judge and He executes justice to allow righteousness to prevail. We are about to see what God’s justice looks like in our world today.
May we proclaim with David in Psalm 91:8, Only with your eyes shall you look, and see the reward of the wicked. May we live our lives as God directs by the grace freely given through Holy Spirit. May we see the judgments of God but not be the recipients.
Be blessed my friends. Shalom ♥
