As we light our candles tonight, may we thank Him for delivering us from the power of darkness and moving us to the Kingdom of His Son–the Light of the World.

The people who walked in darkness Have seen a great light; Those who dwelt in the land of the shadow of death, Upon them a light has shined. Isaiah 9:2

Arise, shine;
For your LIGHT has come!
And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you.
² For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth,
And deep darkness the people;
But the Lord will arise over you,
And His glory will be seen upon you.
³ The Gentiles shall come to your LIGHT,
And kings to the brightness of your rising.  Isaiah 60:1-3

I have come as a light into the world, that whoever believes in Me should not abide in darkness. John 12:46

For God, who said, “Let there be LIGHT in the darkness,” has made us understand that it is the brightness of His glory that is seen in the face of Jesus Christ. But this precious treasure-this LIGHT and power that now shines within us –is held in a perishable container, that is, in our weak bodies.
