Hanukkah begins tonight. Jews will be celebrating the oil that provided light to the Holy Place and didn’t run out for 8 days. I and other Christians will be celebrating the Light of the world, Yeshua Hamashiach–Jesus the Messiah, the Eternal Light that never runs out. In this year of much darkness and chaos, I believe we all have every reason to celebrate the Light. If you don’t have candles to light, just let Him shine through you.❤❤❤
Let’s celebrate the Light! Hanukkah Day 1 — tonight at sundown is the time for candle lighting. One candle is lit each night until in 8 days all the candles are lit. If you don’t have a menorah, just use tea lights or other small candles. No laws involved. Just enjoy Jesus.
The tall candle in the middle is the Servant candle, used to light the others. Yeshua is the Servant of God (Mark 10:45) who came to earth bringing the Light of Life to all mankind.
In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. Then God said, “Let there be LIGHT”; and there was light. Genesis 1:1-3 NKJV (Question—Have you ever wondered what the light was on that first day since the sun, moon, and stars were not created until day 4?)
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the LIGHT of men. And the LIGHT shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.
John 1:1-5 NKJV
