Summary of Hebrew Understanding for Psalm 91:4

Psalm 91:4 says: “He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.”

Here is the Summary of Hebrew understanding we have discovered:

When we lean upon God, look to Him to help us, and surrender our ideas and agenda and submitting to His, He covers us in His heart. He covers us with His strength and power. We become one with Him, in His house, part of His family. Our Father is head over all things.  And since He is head of the house, when we receive revelation from Him, we need to pay attention.

When we are under His wings, we are living a surrendered life.  We’ve handed over control to Him and He anoints us, redeems us, and gives us His supernatural life. We are enabled to do the works of Jesus.

When we trust Him, we find refuge within His character and Word.  We lean upon and find support in His heart.  Because we fully believe that His grace will support us and whatever we need will be revealed.

If we are dwelling in the Secret Place, God-Jesus Himself, the Ultimate Leader, births us through every trial and test because of His Covenant with us. Truth is revealed to us in humility out of a hidden relationship with Him.  His Covenant word is faithful and does not change.

His Shield of Truth is righteousness that stands against every curse of the enemy. It Restores Life to every circumstance with Revelation that comes from the Holy Spirit Life in us.

His buckler of truth is something we can Lean on for Support. It is a Fence that shuts us in with God and separates us from the enemy. The Head over all things, Jesus, is turning our insufficiency to complete provision.

Next, we will move on to verse 5.
