He is the King of kings – Focus 34

King_of_kingsWe here in the United States have little understanding of what it means to have a king or a queen.  And in most nations that do have kings or queens, much to do is made over their monarch but very little of their government is legislated by the king or queen.  However, as Christians in the Kingdom of God, we do have a sovereign Ruler, one of Might and Power.

Psalm 47 shouts of His majesty and power highlighting the fact that He is King over all the earth:

Oh, clap your hands, all you peoples!
Shout to God with the voice of triumph!
For the Lord Most High is awesome;
He is a great King over all the earth.
He will subdue the peoples under us,
And the nations under our feet.
He will choose our inheritance for us,
The excellence of Jacob whom He loves. Selah

God has gone up with a shout,
The Lord with the sound of a trumpet.
Sing praises to God, sing praises!
Sing praises to our King, sing praises!
For God is the King of all the earth;
Sing praises with understanding.

God reigns over the nations;
God sits on His holy throne.
The princes of the people have gathered together,
The people of the God of Abraham.
For the shields of the earth belong to God;
He is greatly exalted.

Let’s take a look at this word King and see what treasure it holds.  The word King in this scripture is Strong’s #4428 and it means king or royal–which doesn’t appear to contain anything new.  But let’s look at the letters:

Reading from right to left the word King looks like this King — (all those dots reveal the vowels in the word.) And here are the letters:

Mem 40= Trial, Testing, Tribulation.  Means Womb, Water from the womb, Cleansing water, flowing water that brings life, Mighty, Massive Chaos, Humility, taking the low place, hidden relationship with God, Cleansing water, flowing water that brings life.

Lamed  30 =  Blood of Messiah, Dedication to a task.  Means: Staff, Goad or Stick, to Teach or Instruct, Authority, to Control, Urge Forward, a Tongue

Final Kaf 500 = signifies the whole from one end to the other, thus what is full. Means: To Bend Down, Surrender, Palm of the Hand, Wing – Good works with our hand in Yeshua

Yeshua–the Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father and Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:11) Surrendered (Kaf) Himself and all of His majesty in Humility (Mem)  to come forth from Mary’s Womb (Mem), to be Tried and Tested (Mem) to Teach and instruct us with Authority (Lamed) about God and His Kingdom.  Then He paid the ultimate price,  Shedding His Blood (Lamed) Cleansing us of all our sin and restoring life to us (Mem) to reconcile us with the Abba God. He Fulfilled (Kaf) all the requirements for our redemption.

There is no other King like Him in all the world.  He is the

  • King of glory
  • King of heaven
  • King of Israel
  • King of the Jews
  • King of all the earth
  • King of saints

Here are just a few of the scriptures about His role as King:

Jeremiah 10:10 But the Lord is the true God;
He is the living God and the everlasting King.
At His wrath the earth will tremble,
And the nations will not be able to endure His indignation.

Daniel 4:37  Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and extol and honor the King of heaven, all of whose works are truth, and His ways justice. And those who walk in pride He is able to put down.

Malachi 1:14b  For I am a great King,” says the Lord of hosts, “And My name is to be feared among the nations.”

Revelation 15:13 They sing the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying: “Great and marvelous are Your works, Lord God Almighty! Just and true are Your ways, O King of the saints!

In Revelation 17 an angel explains about the ten horns seen on the beast with seven heads:

“The ten horns which you saw are ten kings who have received no kingdom as yet, but they receive authority for one hour as kings with the beast. 13 These are of one mind, and they will give their power and authority to the beast. 14 These will make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them, for He is Lord of lords and King of kings; and those who are with Him are called, chosen, and faithful.”

The Lamb here, of course, is Yeshua. (John 1:29 “Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!”)

Revelation 19:11-16 is one of my all-time favorite set of verses in the Bible:

Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war. 12 His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He had a name written that no one knew except Himself. 13 He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. 14 And the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, followed Him on white horses. 15 Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations. And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. 16 And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written:

KING OF KINGS AND
LORD OF LORDS.

No, most of us do not have a king or queen over our nation, but if we gave our life to Christ, we are children of the King and He longs to have fellowship with us.  The word tells us that in the end, every knee will bow (Philippians 2:10-11) recognizing Him as KingHe is our ultimate Champion and Lover of our souls. But do we honor Him as our King now?

Recently, in a worship service where we were declaring the greatness of our God, Yeshua gave me a word for the Body and I believe it is a message for all of us:

There is no One greater than I am, yet you bow your knees to every other thing.  Come to Me and be washed.  Come to Me and be cleansed.  There are no other gods before Me, none.

Where do you spend your time, your energy, your money?  If it is not in pursuit of the Kingdom, you are worshipping other gods.  Repent and be saved.

If you confess your sin, I am faithful and just to forgive your sin and cleanse you of all unrighteousness.

Live to honor Me.

Live to worship Me.

Walk with Me.

I long for your companionship.

I am your King and I am your God.

Let’s each take time to bow before our King this week and repent of any other person or thing we’ve honored more than Him.  Then let’s make time daily to submit ourselves to Him and do His bidding because of His great love for us.

Have a blessed week. Shalom ♥
