Fix Your Gaze on Jesus Christ – Part 6 – Song of Solomon 5:13a

5_13aIn this weeks installment, we are going to dig into this description of our Bridegroom’s face.

His cheeks are as a bed of spices, as sweet flowers… Song of Solomon 5:13a

The first word is CHEEKS and in Hebrew, it looks like this:

CheeksIt is Strong’s #3895 and it is defined: לְחִי lᵉchîy, lekh-ee’; from an unused root meaning to be soft; the cheek (from its fleshiness); hence, the jaw-bone:—cheek (bone), jaw (bone).

Reading from right to left the letters are:

Our Bridegroom King is a gentle Teacher, Urging us forward with His words, Living and Revealing the Protective Guidelines of His Kingdom and Bringing us to a good outcome with His Right hand of Power.

The next phrase is BED of SPICES:  The word BED looks like this: Bed and it is Strong’s #6170 from the primary root of #6165.  It is defined עָרַג ʻârag, aw-rag’; a primitive root; to long for:—cry, pant.

Reading from right to left the letters are:

When we put all of that together BED means:

Our Bridegroom sees and understands us.  He sees our insufficiency, our human reasoning that seeks to master us, and generously gives us what we need to lift and benefit us.

Solomon wrote that His cheeks are a bed of SPICES.  The word SPICES looks like thisSpicess and is Strong’s #1314 from the primary root #1313 and is defined: בָּשָׂם bâsâm, baw-sawm’; from an unused root meaning to be fragrant; (compare H5561) the balsam plant:—spice.

The last piece of this first part is “as sweet flowers…”

Here is the word SWEET:  Sweet  It is Strong’s #4840 from the primary root #7543.

It is defined: רָקַח râqach, raw-kakh’; a primitive root; to perfume:—apothecary, compound, make (ointment), prepare, spice.

Again, from right to left:

Resh  200 = Insufficiency, Poverty. Picture: Head Means: Head, Chief, Beginning, Highest, Most Important, a Person, Human Reasoning vs. Obedience.  (When we allow human reasoning to be our master, our head, poverty of the Spirit results.)

Chet  8 = New Beginnings. Means: Fence, Gate, Tent wall to Separate, Protect, Cut off. Torah

Our SWEET Bridegroom Sets us apart as Holy in Him. He comes against our Human Reasoning with His Truth,  His Torah (instruction) and Separates us from the enemy Protecting us.

Let’s wrap this up with the word FLOWERS:  We all know what flowers are, right?  Let’s see. The word Flowers looks like this  Flowers   and it is Strong’s #4026 from the primary root of #1431.  It is defined,  גָּדַל gâdal, gaw-dal’; a primitive root; properly, to twist (compare H1434), i.e. to be (causatively make) large (in various senses, as in body, mind, estate or honor, also in pride):—advance, boast, bring up, exceed, excellent, be(-come, do, give, make, wax), great(-er, come to… estate, things), grow(up), increase, lift up, magnify(-ifical), be much set by, nourish (up), pass, promote, proudly (spoken), tower.

The Hebrew letters tell a different story:

Gimmel  3= Divine perfection  Means: Camel, Generous Rich man, To Lift up, to Give, to Benefit, to Toil

Vav  6 =  Man.  Means: Nail or Hook, to Secure, Pin together, Connect -Yeshua

Resh  200 = Insufficiency, Poverty. Picture: Head Means: Head, Chief, Beginning, Highest, Most Important, a Person, Human Reasoning vs. Obedience.  (When we allow human reasoning to be our master, our head, poverty of the Spirit results.)

This word FLOWERS speaks of Yeshua lifting us up, re-connecting us with heaven—that Overturns our human reasoning and gives us a desire to obey Abba.

Summary

Our Bridegroom King is a gentle Teacher, Urging us forward with His words, Living and Revealing the Protective Guidelines of His Kingdom and Bringing us to a good outcome with His Right hand of Power.

He sees and understands us.  He sees our insufficiency, our human reasoning that seeks to master us, and generously gives us what we need to lift and benefit us.

He brings us into His Family, His House and His Fiery Zeal destroys our enemies as He reveals His Hidden Truth.

Our SWEET Bridegroom Sets us apart as Holy in Him. He comes against our Human Reasoning with His Truth,  His Torah (instruction) and Separates us from the enemy Protecting us.

His sacrifice lifted us up, re-connecting us with heaven and Abba Himself—our new identity Overturns our human reasoning and gives us a desire to obey Abba.

Who would have ever thought all this treasure could be found in a verse about His cheeks?  The rest of this verse is even more wonderful.  I am certain that we will spend eternity discovering fresh revelation of Who He is.
