Monday Manna – Running and Rest

monday-manna3In April 2013, the Lord and I had this conversation about rest and about running.  I our 24/7 non-stop life here in America, I believe we all need to hear this message of truth.

Mary Ellen?  What comes to mind when I say, “rest?”  He asked.

Sitting in a lounge chair, eyes closed, a beautiful sunny day, gentle breeze, beautiful music, and thoughts of You.

Lord, I hear You laughing…

Yes, Beloved I am laughing.  Yes, that is the picture most of My Body sees, but rest is so much more.

Rest is a way of living, free of encumbrance, doctrine, shoulds and oughts.  It is a way to run, to walk, to leap without thought of direction, enveloped in My Spirit as I carry you from one place to another.

Rest isn’t about reclining, it’s about running in grace, fueled by My anointing, My Spirit.

Are you ready to run?

Lord, by Your grace is the only way I could run.

Yes, Beloved.  I’ve ordained it so.  I will prepare you to run in rest.  It’s a new level, a new discipline.  You will have to lay aside all that encumbers and run with purpose the race I set before you, not looking at the time or the methods of others.  I am Your Way, Your Truth, Your Life.  Follow Me and Me only.

Your will, Your way Lord.  May I run with purpose the race You set before me.

I will do this for all who are willing to humble themselves and lay aside their agenda and follow Me.  Are you ready?

Yes Lord, I will follow You.

Hebrews 12:1 Therefore then, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses [who have borne testimony to the Truth], let us strip off and throw aside every encumbrance (unnecessary weight) and that sin which so readily (deftly and cleverly) clings to and entangles us, and let us run with patient endurance and steady and active persistence the appointed course of the race that is set before us,

Isaiah 40:31 But those who wait on the Lord
Shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings like eagles,
They shall run and not be weary,
They shall walk and not faint.

Habakkuk 3:19 The Lord God is my strength;
He will make my feet like deer’s feet,
And He will make me walk on my high hills.
