One morning I was questioning the new relationships in my life and why God was bringing us together. In a vision I see Him setting up a chess board.
“I see You setting up a chess board and slowly placing each piece careful—all the time smiling and humming to Yourself. Lord, I don’t know how to play chess.”
He is sitting by a table with a chess board on it. There is a pond or small lake behind Him. Everything is green and flourishing. The breeze is gently rocking the trees and it is pleasantly warm. The air is filled with the fragrance of morning wet grass and lilacs. I take a seat opposite Him and He continues to smile and hum to Himself.
“Lord, did You hear me? I don’t know how to play chess.”
“You don’t need to know how. I will be moving all the pieces. This is a game for you to watch.
“You’ve already been watching Me gather the players and all of your questions are valid. Soon you will have answers. In My time. It’s My turn to lead.
“You’ve often sprinted ahead in the past without knowing you were. You’ve learned to wait for Me. It’s been a rich season of classes. You are about to graduate and be a true Follower.”
He is smiling again. “No condemnation, Beloved. I make all things beautiful in their time. Your beauty is growing daily as you wait on Me. Like Esther, you are learning to lean on Holy Spirit and follow His lead. This brings Me joy unspeakable and full of glory.
“In the game of chess, checkmate has a negative, ‘you lose’ connotation. I’m ready to show you another perspective. Slowly and methodically I am going to remove every self-initiated thing and win you over completely to Me.
“You will love this game and rather than cringe with each piece leaving, we will celebrate together. There is no room on the throne for more than one King—Me. Rest and watch, we have some housecleaning to do, but it will be a joyous work of love.”
“Let the game begin, Lord.”
Looking down at my Bible and see it open to 2 Corinthians 11:2. For I am jealous for you with godly jealousy. For I have betrothed you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ. NKJV
Have a blessed week and let Him move all the pieces. 🙂
Nice post, I enjoyed it. Thank you for sharing. I always enjoy these Monday Manna, although I am guilty of not reading them the same day you post them. They always give me joy. I am looking forward to your next post.
Thank you. I love sharing them. God told me in 1985 to start journaling my daily walk with Him because at some point I would share my entries with others. Never imagined I’d be doing it this way. He is full of surprises. Thank you for your comment. May they continue to bless you regardless of when you read them. :).
