On August 7, 2010, Abba gave me more understanding about His river. It is full of life and meaning. Here was our conversation:
Holy Spirit, have Your way in Mike and me. Continue to consume me from the inside out. Continue to refashion and take up residence in every chamber-every hidden closet. Uproot the old and fill with Your treasures, Your gifts of love. You are my refuge and help. You are my stronghold and hiding place. It is Your river of love and life and joy that flows to me and through me. I praise You, Lord. May Your river be evidenced in my life.
“Let’s go down to the River, Beloved.”
I see it—wide—almost placid in appearance, but when I look closely I see it moving powerfully from it’s depths. Sense the danger in entering it’s flow.
“What do you see Beloved?”
“It’s very deep and its moving with great power,” I said as anxiety began to rise in me.
“Are you ready to plunge to its depths with Me?”
“Lord, I’m afraid to enter. It will carry me away. I won’t have the strength to get out.”
He turned and smiled. “There is no ‘getting out’ once you plunge into the depths with Me.”
“Lord., I’m afraid.”
“Take My hand Beloved and walk with Me. I will not leave you. I will be here to help you and give you strength.”
I take His hand and we step out on the water. We don’t sink. As we begin walking on the water, it carries us like the conveyor walkways at the airport. We are covering territory very swiftly.
“Do you see the advantage of being with Me on the River?”
“Yes, Lord, it’s easy to travel and with little effort.”
“Stand still and see the salvation of your God. Even when you are standing still, when you are with Me, progress is being made. Rest in My love for you. Rest in My will. We ARE moving forward more quickly than you realize. I’ve been waiting for you and Mike to say, ‘Yes.’ There are miles to go before you sleep Beloved. This is My River of love, My River of joy, My River of life. In Me you live and move and have your being. We are on the River but the River is also in you and you are in it. My River is My will. This is the ultimate Riverdance.”

I encourage you to spend some time with Him this week and let Him take you to the River. There are joys to be found beyond your knowing.
