One Word Treasures
On January 26, 2016, Holy Spirit led me to my first ‘One Word Treasure’ for this year. At the time, I was disappointed in the way something I’d carefully prepared for went awry at the last minute and wanted to fix it somehow. So I asked Abba to help me to see this circumstance as He saw it.
He told me, “Be still. Let go and let Me. Trust and obey.” Then He said, “Psalm 73.”
So I went to Psalm 73 and started praying and reading. I always TRY to remember to pray and ask Holy Spirit to stop me on the thing He wants me to see, before I begin any study or reading of God’s Word. (I don’t always remember, but have more rich results when I do.)
Here is where He stopped me: Psalm 73:23-26
I am continually with You;
You hold me by my right hand.
24 You will guide me with Your counsel,
And afterward receive me to glory.
25 Whom have I in heaven but You?
And there is none upon earth that I desire besides You.
26 My flesh and my heart fail;
But God is the strength of my heart and MY PORTION forever. NKJV
“My Portion Forever, shouts off of the page. ‘Abba, what are You telling me this morning?'” I asked.
“Beloved, you are living for an audience of One…Me. No one else’s opinion or approval, criticism or praise is to be your focus…not even yours. I am the One who gave you the assignment and wrote it on your heart and I say, ‘approved, accepted, without flaw.’ I am your portion. I am your fan club. My standard is love from a pure heart. It’s not about performance, it’s about your heart.”
His words blessed me and pulled me out of the human reasoning trap, but I was compelled to continue meditating (speaking this scripture over and over out loud and prayerfully.). Every time I said the word PORTION, I felt a heaviness in my heart, like someone placed something in me.
I had to search out the meaning of this word. I knew there was treasure to be found.
PORTION: Then I went to the Old Testament Word Dictionary and found this:
Here is the breakdown of the Hebrew spelling:
I was especially drawn to the word in the definition ‘impart’, because that is what it felt like. Something was deposited IN me when I read the word.
After more prayer and questions, Holy Spirit helped me see what He was showing me
PORTION: The portion or impartation you are receiving is ME. I separate and protect you and bring you a new beginning. I am bringing you full circle back to Me and helping you realize Who it is that lives in you. I am doing it through My Word, My instruction, in logos and rhema. I AM your Portion forever.
My heart melted with this fresh revelation of His love. Every bit of the frustration and the need to ‘fix’ was gone. He once again took first place.
How grateful I am to have a one-on-one relationship with the One who loves me best. I encourage you to consider your portion. You won’t be disappointed.
