The Word Testimonies is More Than You Think

May 18, 2021 / Mary Ellen Wright / 1 Comment

I was brought up in a church where every Wednesday evening there was a Prayer and Testimony service. People would stand and tell how God had blessed them that week. And when my husband worked for the Sheriff's department, one of his assignments was to be a bailiff at the courthouse. He daily stood in … Continue reading The Word Testimonies is More Than You Think

The Bible Speaks About Statutes. What Are They?

May 10, 2021January 18, 2023 / Mary Ellen Wright / 8 Comments

Holy Spirit has me on a learning curve about the meaning of words. They appear often in the Bible, yet, are rarely used in our society today. 'Statutes' is one of those words. If you read the Bible like most people, you often see this word and pass right over it. You may see it … Continue reading The Bible Speaks About Statutes. What Are They?

This is My Commandment

May 6, 2021May 7, 2021 / Mary Ellen Wright / 3 Comments

The word commandment is often spoken in a derogatory way by the world and among believers. Many believe that the time of following God's commandments is over and now we live in the age of grace alone. It's not popular to go against this flood of fake truth, but that is where we are headed … Continue reading This is My Commandment

The LORD is our Banner

December 31, 2020 / Mary Ellen Wright / Leave a comment

This past Sunday, our pastor preached a message out of Exodus 17, entitled, 'God Can Be Trusted?' One of the verses he highlighted was verse 15, where Moses built an altar to celebrate the Israelite's victory over the Amalekites. Moses called the altar, 'The LORD is My Banner,' or Yehovah Nissi. Our pastor asked the … Continue reading The LORD is our Banner

We’ll start with MIGHTY. #1368 in Strong’s.  … Continue reading His Name Shall be Called – MIGHTY GOD

His Name Shall be Called – Wonderful

December 19, 2020December 26, 2023 / Mary Ellen Wright / Leave a comment

Good morning. Hope you are enjoying discovering the destiny of Jesus through His names. Today we are going to look at 'WONDERFUL.' "And His name shall be called WONDERFUL..." Isaiah 9:6 What does Wonderful mean? It's only when we see it in the original language of Hebrew, that we see the full picture. We use … Continue reading His Name Shall be Called – Wonderful

Unto Us a Child is Born

December 18, 2020November 28, 2025 / Mary Ellen Wright / Leave a comment

Jesus didn't come as a conquering king or fierce warrior. He came as a child, an innocent baby that cried when He was hungry and slept when He was tired. When Isaiah wrote this verse centuries before His birth, Holy Spirit anointed him with just the right words to use. Isaiah 9:6 is a bold … Continue reading Unto Us a Child is Born

How Can I Know God?

November 11, 2020 / Mary Ellen Wright / Leave a comment

I can't seem to get past Psalm 46:10. Holy Spirit keeps unpacking it for me. We've talked about being still, but I never realized that being still is connected with knowing God. Let's look at this again. Be Still Be still -- Look to God as your Head--Your authority person--the first One you run to … Continue reading How Can I Know God?

Take Courage Joshua 1:9 – Part 4

August 6, 2020 / Mary Ellen Wright / Leave a comment

Joshua 1:9 begins with God's commands: Be strong Be of good courage Do not be afraid Nor be dismayed Now, He follows up with this peace producing, faith-building promise: “For the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.” Note that LORD is capitalized.  Whenever you see it all in capitals it is referring … Continue reading Take Courage Joshua 1:9 – Part 4

Take Courage Joshua 1:9 – Part 3

August 3, 2020December 7, 2025 / Mary Ellen Wright / 1 Comment

Years ago, while driving home in my car, I was pouring my heart out to God about the conditions of the world and how to deal with all the seeming chaos and threats.  It was then that He told me, "There is never a reason to fear."  It was as if Jesus spoke again to … Continue reading Take Courage Joshua 1:9 – Part 3

The words David chose, and the words God spoke in Psalm 91 reveal treasures of insight about who God is and about the enemy’s tactics. We cannot have lasting peace and freedom without knowing God and giving Him full reign in our lives. Nor is freedom possible without knowing how the enemy operates, and how we can shut him down. Hidden in the Hebrew text of this psalm both elements are revealed.

Here we uncover priceless nuggets of truth to help us live a triumphant life. There are also conversations I had with God through this process. I believe my journal notes, added to each chapter, will cause you to love and trust God more.
