When the Lord gave me the Instructions for Growing in Faith in 2023, I felt I needed to hold it in prayer and meditation for a while.  When we pray over our concerns or pray and meditate on scripture, I have found that Holy Spirit brings added understanding from many different sources. 

On January 1, I opened YouTube.  There on the first page was a post from Sid Roth’s It’s Supernatural site.  The new video was called, 2023: “This Will Shock the World!” [Prophetic Word].  It is a testimony and word by Bobby Conner.  He is a prophet I have listened to for about 40 years. 

In the video he spoke a scripture that caught my attention.  It was Psalm 84:11-12.

For the Lord God is a sun and SHIELD;
The Lord will give grace and glory;
No good thing will He withhold
From those who walk uprightly.

O Lord of hosts,
Blessed is the man who trusts in You!

Holy Spirit highlighted the word Shield to me.  He wanted me to look up the meaning.  Before I did that, another scripture came to mind out of Psalm 91.  The last book I wrote was about Psalm 91 and I knew there was more information about Shield.

His TRUTH shall be your SHIELD and buckler. Psalm 91:4

Holy Spirit was pointing me to the fact that Truth is our shield.

So, I decided to look up Truth first.

TRUTH is Strong’s #571 and its primitive root is #539.  Truth means faithfulness, lovingkindness, peace, righteousness, and justice. To walk in truth is to conduct oneself according to God’s holy standards.

#539 is the primitive root and it looks like this: אָמַן    It is a verb meaning to be firm, to build up, to support, to nurture, or to establish. The primitive meaning is that of providing stability and confidence, and trustworthiness.

Here are the letters from right to left:

א  ‎Aleph 1= God – Echad – Unity, Unique (no other like it) Means: Ox head—Strength or Leader, Most Important, First – The Strength and Power of the leader

מ Mem 40= Trial, Testing, Tribulation.  Means Womb, Water from the womb, Cleansing water, flowing water that brings life, Mighty, Massive Chaos, Humility, taking the low place, hidden relationship with God, Cleansing water, flowing water that brings life.

ת Tav 400 = the Outcome of Trial and Testing.  Picture: A Rough Cross.  Means: Cross, Covenant, Seal, Mark, a Sign, Ownership, Finished or Complete.

Jesus said to His disciples, “I am the Way, the Truth and the Life.” (John 14:6)  So, Truth is not just a set of facts. Truth is a Person.  Now, let’s read the meaning with this in mind.

TRUTH: Truth is (Aleph) God – Jesus Himself, the Ultimate Leader. He brings us through every (Mem) Trial and Test because of His (Tav) love Covenant with us. Truth is revealed our (Mem) hidden relationship with Him. His (Tav) Covenant word is True and faithful. It does not change.

Then I looked up the word SHIELD.

SHIELD is Strong’s #6793 and it looks like this:  צִנָּה  It is a noun referring to a hook. It refers to a sharp instrument used to gouge and lead away prisoners, a shield, a large shield, a buckler. It refers to a large, probably rectangular shield used in battle.

The soldiers would often stand side by side and place their shields edge to edge forming a wall of defense:

When we look at the letters, we get a deeper understanding.

צ Tzade 90 = Humility. Picture-Fishhook.  Means: Righteousness, to pull toward, Desire, Trouble, Harvest

נ Nun  50 = Restoration, Holy Spirit, Jubilee. Means: Life or Action

ה Hey  5 = Grace.  Means: Revelation – 5 is the number of Torah, Behold, Give Attention – (at the end of a word: comes from letter before)

His SHIELD of Truth is (Tzade) Righteousness, Holy Spirit Himself.  He brings (Hey) Revelation of Jesus that stands against every curse of the enemy. The Revelation He brings (Nun) Restores Life to us.

In other words, His shield of truth renews our mind, will and emotions with His word and stirs us to make Him and His word the focus. It takes our mind and emotions off of the threats and behavior of the enemy and raises us to life and puts our faith into action.

Brian Johnson of Bethel wrote this song that says it again.

If fear is ruling, let’s do what Holy Spirit instructed.

“I am Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the end. The Aleph and the Tav. The God of covenant. I am shaking all that can be shaken to reveal My covenant. The weapons of your warfare are mighty because they are Truth weapons. Truth cuts. Truth pierces. Truth removes doubt and fear and disease.

Holy Spirit Truth will lead you in this hour of shaking. He holds your future in His hands. Listen to Him. Sit with Him for counsel. Walk with Him in obedience. There is no fear in love and He loves you beyond your words to describe. His Truth is your sure path through this valley of the shadow of death. You will fear No evil, for I AM is with you. I have all you need, Beloved, ALL. Call on Me, run to Me before you speak, I will answer.“

Truth is God – Jesus Himself, the Ultimate Leader. He brings us through every Trial and Test because of His love and Covenant with us. Truth is revealed in our hidden relationship with Him. His Covenant word is True and faithful. It does not change.

His Shield of Truth is Truth and Righteousness, Holy Spirit Himself. He brings Revelation that stands against every curse of the enemy and Restores Life to us.

Here is the last scripture He gave me: John 16:13-14

 But when He, the Spirit of Truth (the Truth-giving Spirit) comes, He will guide you into all the Truth (the whole, full Truth). For He will not speak His own message [on His own authority]; but He will tell whatever He hears [from the Father; He will give the message that has been given to Him], and He will announce and declare to you the things that are to come [that will happen in the future].

¹⁴ He will honor and glorify Me, because He will take of (receive, draw upon) what is Mine and will reveal (declare, disclose, transmit) it to you.

With all this said, we conclude by agreeing with Abba that the battle is already won. “All that is left is the clean-up.”

Have you ever had a thief break into your home and trash the entire house searching for valuables? That is basically what has been going on in our country. Thieves have been turning everything upside down to steal our freedom, our health, our finances, and our peace. They have blasphemed God and His word and tried to convince us that God has no power over them. They are about to be shaken to the core.

But, just as it takes time to clean up the mess after the thieves are caught, it is going to take some time to right all the wrongs that have been committed. There have been many caught and we will see justice rendered soon to the shock and awe of all of us.

But in the meantime, let’s spend time with the Lord, get into His word, listen, and do what He says. If we are true disciples of Christ, we will be about our Father’s business this year and the end will be glorious.
