Noise is something bothersome and debilitating. It’s difficult to sleep, to think, or to hear what you want to hear. David says that the LORD will deliver us from NOISOME PESTILENCE. What on earth is that? A locust invasion? Flocks of birds? Let’s see:
Psalm 91:3c says, “Surely, He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from noisome pestilence,”
In Missouri, during certain summer seasons, the Cicadas are so noisy, it is difficult to sleep. Their sound is like a throbbing siren. Between them, the crickets, and tree frogs, it is a cacophony of sound. Closing the windows does not drown it out. The noise is especially brutal if you are camping.
When I first read this verse, cicadas are what came to mind. However, when I picked up my Strong’s concordance, I found it had little to do with cicadas or crickets or any other insect. Let’s see what David was talking about.
NOISOME—is Strong’s #1942. It is a primitive root and it looks like this: 
It means destruction, desire. Eagerly coveting and rushing upon. This word usually describes an event associated with calamity, evil, or destruction. It can speak of the wickedness of evildoers.
We will get more insight with the letters. From right to left:
= Hey 5 = Grace. Pictograph-Man holding up Arms Means: Revelation – 5 is the number of Torah, Behold, Give Attention
= Vav 6 = Man. Means: Nail or Hook, to Secure, Pin together, Connect -Yeshua
= Hey 5 = Grace. Pictograph-Man holding up Arms Means: Revelation – 5 is the number of Torah, Behold, Give Attention – (at the end of a word: comes from letter before)
Noisome: The letter (Hey) not only means Revelation in a good sense but like the picture of the man with the uplifted hands…in a negative sense the enemy is jumping up and down with arms waving – “HEY, you are going the wrong way. Let me show you some ‘truth.’ (Hey)—look at me!” If we look and listen to his ranting, we are Hooked and Nailed (Vav) into his domain instead of the Lord’s.
PESTILENCE—Now, this one is most interesting. Pestilence is #1696, a primitive root. It looks like this: 
And it is defined as to arrange; but used figuratively (of words), TO SPEAK; to subdue: KJV – answer, appoint, bid, command, commune, declare, destroy, give, name, promise, pronounce, rehearse, say, speak, be spokesman, subdue, talk, teach, tell, think, use [entreaties], utter.
Now we will see the letters:
= Dallet 4 = Earth or creation. Means: Door, Gate, Impoverished man
= Bet 2 = Divide or Division Means: House/Family; God’s word, God’s dwelling place
= Resh 200 = Insufficiency, Poverty (When we allow human reasoning to be our master, poverty of the Spirit results. Picture: the Head Means: Head, Chief, Beginning, Highest, Most Important, a Person, Human Reasoning vs. Obedience
Pestilence: How often the enemy enters the Door (Dallet) of our Home (Bet) when we are already feeling weary or down on ourselves or upset with someone else and he Speaks judgment, unbelief, or stirs strife that causes us to feel Insufficient (Resh) and question if God really is in charge. Those emotions bring division in our relationship (Bet) with God and those we love most.
I was surprised when I took these two words together—“noisome pestilence” with their definitions. Initially “noisome pestilence,” looked like a plague of locusts eating my garden or ants invading my pantry. Instead the definitions indicated that it was a storm of words used by the enemy to subdue us or turn us away from faith, away from love, away from the peace and security we find in the secret place.
Have you ever been going along, minding your own business, fully enjoying God’s presence and walking in His will, only to be suddenly attacked by someone spouting vicious lies about you or accusations that have no merit? Or possibly the attack comes in the form of inner dialogue that causes you to question, “Did God really say?” shaking your faith in His promises?
Any of these or a thousand others can cause us to pause from our rest and turn our eyes on something other than the love and faithfulness of our Self-Existent, Supreme, Almighty God. Yet, David is saying that if we establish ourselves in the secret place, God will deliver us from this blowhard sneaky deceiver.
Proverbs 6:2 You are snared with the words of your lips, you are caught by the speech of your mouth.
Proverbs 18:7 A [self-confident] fool’s mouth is his ruin, and his lips are a snare to himself.
Jeremiah 9:8 Their tongue is a murderous arrow; it speaks deceitfully; one speaks peaceably to his neighbor with his mouth, but in his heart he lays snares and waits in ambush for him.

In November 2005, God showed me a critical spirit at work in my life toward myself and others. That the critical spirit was an enemy to God’s purpose in my life. As I repented and turned to God for His help I heard:
“You are seeing this as an enemy to be dealt with. You have power over the enemy with My Word. Here is the word to speak to that noisome pestilence, ‘Go!! In the name of Jesus!!’ I want purity in the inward parts.”
It is no accident that I’d been singing again, “Lord, prepare me to be a sanctuary, pure and holy, tried and true. With thanksgiving, I’ll be a living sanctuary for You.”
“I made your mouth and I made your heart. I know how to correct, change, and heal both. This thing permeates your whole life and it’s kept you from My purposes many times.
Are you willing to deal with it now? Are you willing to pay the price to see it forever removed? Just say yes, and we will begin.”
“Lord, I feel like I’m giving you permission to do heart surgery without anesthetic.”
“Worship will be your anesthetic. I will never leave you.”
“I surrender Lord. Yes, Lord. Yes, Lord. Yes! Yes, Lord! Amen! (Godly government for my soul.)
In this post, we’ve discovered two more benefits of living in the secret place. God will deliver us from the hidden traps of the enemy and He will deliver us from the storm of words that often come to destroy our faith or activate anger and self-will. He knows that these things are part of everyday living as a believer, yet, He’s put in place all that we need to overcome and live life fully surrendered to Him. He is the answer to every obstacle the enemy throws in our path. He is our Deliverer!

Surely HE SHALL DELIVER YOU from the Snare of the Fowler and from Noisome Pestilence:
When we abide in the Secret Place, God delivers us from something or someone negative who is trying to set a new governmental order over us through the spoken word. These words create a new beginning, fencing us in, dividing and separating us, cutting us off from Godly influence with its powerful hand. This fowler keeps us in a place of fire, with a plan to destroy us.
God is also delivering us from the enemy who is jumping up and down with arms waving – “Hey, you are going the wrong way. Let me show you some ‘truth.’ Look at me!” If we look and listen to his ranting, we are hooked and nailed into his domain instead of the Lord’s.
When we are feeling weary or down on ourselves or upset with someone else, the enemy often enters the door of our home and speaks judgment, unbelief, or stirs strife that causes us to feel insufficient. We begin to question if God really is in charge. Those emotions bring division in our relationship with God and those we love most.
When we abide in Him and consistently look to God, He will deliver us.

I Never understood why arguments would always happen when I left Sunday’s Service. No peace , just confusion as soon as I got in the car . I had learned to Sit still and prayed. Thank you I need this post . I feel so relieved that God heard my humble cry.

Tragedy has just struck my family but the Lord thy God and the Lord Jesus Christ his son the truth the way and the light of this world even his mother holy mother Mary Queen Jesus is apostles his disciples the angels sister say magdeline and herself we’re leading me to a path of righteousness so I can be strong enough for this tragedy that’s happened and in the midst of my holy Christian family in heaven
it’s been like a tempest it has been a wave of I thought it was the prince of air which it is after my brother was brutally or heinously killed a block away from home last week I found out who really really loves his children on Earth and his sheep and who’s a good shepherd
on the trip the following Sunday on my birthday December the 15th 2024 my brothers December 3rd 2024 and his death happened December 10th 2024 he was 56 years old young
we went up to Mississippi to see his children that he was enstranged from for the past 5 years
it says that you are judged by the fruits of your labor my brother’s labor was good it was prosperous and I know Jesus had a hand in that go 4th and breed he gave him twins boy and girl and a son three beautiful children and guess what they’re all strong in Christ and we were at the church and let me tell you the Lord let me on the way there Psalms 91 you’re blog but it was it was the Lord telling me I didn’t find your blog till I got back home two days later Psalms 91 was letting me know what’s going on I smelled my brother in church I got to spend time with his family in church so do my brother my brother showed me how he held his Bible and that church and I got to hug my brother the next morning I got to pick up the bill at the dinner for my family it’s my brother always did I got to feel grown up and the Lord brought me a picture of my brother the last picture that I have in my brother or the most recent anyway from a chapel that I took him to here a church here in Arkansas I met devil’s after me trying to tell me don’t do this or the Lord won’t help cuz the Lord’s trying to help me quit smoking cigarettes well you know what the Lord is mighty and he’s one of them that you know cuz he’s already done that
no reason no reason to put that in there he tried the Lord tried if we could have put my brother in the truck and moved him out of the way the Lord is mighty he shows me his works and after hugging my brother this morning I love the Lord I’ve always loved the Lord and I’m going to stay in his shadow I’m going to be under the shadow of the most high God I didn’t even know what the most high God was but in me and my brothers been through trials of tribulations and I want to stay close to Jesus and God in Jesus name amen

I’ve noticed whenever a Victory comes, the NP comes before it and pulls me out of Character with my Son. I also, have to sit in my car and Pray, before I go in my house. Amen, Happy. God is our ultimate counselor who guides us in all truth. Noisesome pestilence is all around. God is available 24/7 for direction and enablement. His grace IS sufficient. We are so blessed to be His. He keeps us from messing up if we’d just pause and ask for direction. 🙂

You have no idea what you have showed me about the demon, possibly demons, sent on me and my family. Yes I have a testimony, but its to much..I want you to know explaining noise me pestilence, explained my situation, I knew it already, but you have unlocked the meaning that matched through the word of God…thank you. I have been baptised in the name of Jesus and filled with the evidence of speaking in tongue in about three minutes on my knees before the alter, ..I asked God why after it happened, he said they did it to destroy you (what you post about taking over a soul to be their guide and everything else, vile.) But he said I let it happen to build you up…I’m thinking about that now with your post, and that heart surgery…..do you know who I am? I thought you might even be mocking me..! For in Jesus name I have always had a heart murmmer, born with a hole in it…after moving to grand rapids mi. It began to feel like something was scraping it, ask someone with knowledge, because it was painful from time to time…I was under a lot of stress.. It eased, but after years of this it started back….then it just got better, just as I began to think I might die. I was crying asking the Lord why did he take it away, does it I will continue to fight with his word the workers of iniquity sent upon me by the fowler..? Your blog again said what knew but explained it from Gods view point….I didn’t want to fight no more, tired.
