There was a time when I so wanted to know my assignment. I kept asking Abba, “What do You want me to do? Where do You want me to serve?”
One morning, as I continued to press in for an answer, He said,
I want you to see more fully that My love for you is not based on your performance. I am looking at your heart. As you stay submitted in trust to My will, My timing, My way, your heart will resonate with My love for you. No matter the difficulty, you will feel My love and it will carry you through.
I love you more than life. I love you more than death. You are My love, My joy, My song.
Give Me your hopes and dreams. My plans are bigger and you won’t have to figure them out or do anything but say, “yes!” when I ask you to do something. Will you say, “Yes?”
The not-knowing is often a struggle for most of us. The great I AM, the only Self-Existent Eternal God, the One who created the universe and breathes life into every living thing, the One Who paid the ultimate price for us to be part of His family–this God, is asking for our ‘Yes,’ our trust.
If we think we know more than He does or can do more than He can we have some lessons to learn. May we quit our striving, or performing in hopes of gaining His help and instead trust Him and say, “Yes.”
Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.
Psalm 91:2 I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.”
