Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good;
Blessed is the man who trusts in Him!
9 Oh, fear the Lord, you His saints!
There is no want to those who fear Him.
10 The young lions lack and suffer hunger;
But those who seek the Lord shall not lack any good thing. Psalm 34:8-10
David penned these words long before Yeshua ever made His appearance as the Son of God.
But how does one taste and see the LORD?
The disciples had the same question centuries later.
John 6:48-58 “I am the bread of life. 49 Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and are dead. 50 This is the bread which comes down from heaven, that one may eat of it and not die. 51 I am the living bread which came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread that I shall give is My flesh, which I shall give for the life of the world.”
52 The Jews therefore quarreled among themselves, saying, “How can this Man give us His flesh to eat?”
53 Then Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in you. 54 Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. 55 For My flesh is food indeed, and My blood is drink indeed. 56 He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood abides in Me, and I in him. 57 As the living Father sent Me, and I live because of the Father, so he who feeds on Me will live because of Me. 58 This is the bread which came down from heaven—not as your fathers ate the manna, and are dead. He who eats this bread will live forever.”
Let’s take a look at the word BREAD: Strong’s 3899 Lechem – bread And here are the Hebrew letters—reading from right to left:
Lamed 30 = Blood of Messiah, Dedication to a task. Means: Staff, Goad or Stick, to Teach or Instruct, Authority, to Control, Urge Forward, a Tongue
Chet 8 = New Beginnings. Means: Fence, Gate, Tent wall to Separate, Protect, Cut off. Torah
Final Mem 600 = Means: Hidden Truth – Womb, Water from the womb, Cleansing water, flowing water that brings life, Mighty, Massive Chaos, Humility, taking the low place, hidden relationship with God, Cleansing water, flowing water that brings life.
Yeshua, our Bread of Life came to Teach and Instruct us in a new beginning.
The Truth He reveals separates us from the world and protects us as we walk in His wisdom.
The Truth He is bringing out of the hidden place, leads to deep cleansing and refining through the washing of the Word. It draws us in humility to a hidden relationship with God.
David was right, He is Good!
The word of God through Isaiah also speaks of this Bread.
“Ho! Everyone who thirsts,
Come to the waters;
And you who have no money,
Come, buy and eat.
Yes, come, buy wine and milk
Without money and without price.
2 Why do you spend money for what is not bread,
And your wages for what does not satisfy?
Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good,
And let your soul delight itself in abundance.
3 Incline your ear, and come to Me.
Hear, and your soul shall live;
And I will make an everlasting covenant with you—
The sure mercies of David. Isaiah 55:1-3
I sometimes wonder what we are seeking in all the conferences, concerts, seminars, we go to and the podcasts, live streams, etc. we listen to or watch. Are we wanting a deeper relationship with Him or are we wanting to be entertained? Do we want the opportunity to get a new t-shirt or CD or book? Eternal life is only found in the Bread of Life. Eternal Life with Him is beyond comparison to any other thing. And we can engage with Him wherever we are, if we are willing to take the time to stop and share our heart and listen for Him to share His.
Hebrews 5:12-14 says: For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you have need again for someone to teach you the elementary principles of the oracles of God, and you have come to need milk and not solid food. For everyone who partakes only of milk is not accustomed to the word of righteousness, for he is an infant. But solid food is for the mature, who because of practice have their senses trained to discern good and evil.
Milk is fast food. Meat takes time to prepare, as does bread. Does time with Him appear on our Daytimer? Do we meditate on the Word – chewing on it over and over through the day, asking Holy Spirit what it means and how to apply it? Or do we read our chapter or five pages, etc., give ourselves a gold star and rush on to the next thing?
Do we go to Him with our prayer list but never ask Him for His?
One of the main reasons Yeshua came to earth was to reconcile us with Abba. Abba wants a family. He wants deep relationships with His kids. And He has Bread for us everyday, if we spend time with Him.
I’m reading in Proverbs right now and Holy Spirit highlighted these verses for me:
The Way of Wisdom
Wisdom has built her house,
She has hewn out her seven pillars;
2 She has slaughtered her meat,
She has mixed her wine,
She has also [a]furnished her table.
3 She has sent out her maidens,
She cries out from the highest places of the city,
4 “Whoever is simple, let him turn in here!”
As for him who lacks understanding, she says to him,
5 “Come, eat of my bread
And drink of the wine I have mixed.
6 Forsake foolishness and live,
And go in the way of understanding. Proverbs 9:1-6
Knowing Him, reading His word isn’t just to fill our heads with knowledge but to activate our lives in Kingdom living with Holy Spirit ordained understanding.
Yeshua is breaking bread again on this third day and He is giving it to His disciples to feed the multitudes. He is revealing Himself with more clarity than ever before out of the abundant supply He stored up for this Kingdom Age.
The bread He is breaking is more than salvation, healing, deliverance, protection, and preservation. The Gospel was always meant to bring more than these elemental blessings. The bread He is releasing is for complete transformation.
The Bread will help us experience Oneness with Him in ways we’ve never imagined. We will truly walk into Heaven’s courts and learn the strategies of the Lord against the enemies and will declare and decree from that place releasing liberty and freedom as never before. The world will experience the power of God through those who feast on this Bread.
It’s time for all of us to ‘taste and see that the LORD is good.’ It is time for us to eat His flesh and drink His blood and re-present Him to our world. The harvest fields are white and the LORD of the Harvest is calling for laborers. Will we answer as Isaiah did? “Here am I, send me.”
It’s time to let His light shine and be His hands and feet in our world. Have a blessed week and don’t forget to feast. ♥
