Unto Us a Son is Given

son-of-god

The word or name ‘SON’ seems generic enough, a word we can all understand, right?  Well when we stop to consider it is God’s Son we are talking about, look at what the letters mean.

The word SON is #1121 in Strong’s concordance and the primary root word is #1129.  The meanings of the word are: #1121–a son (as a builder of the family name)., in the widest sense (of literal and figurative relationship, including grandson, subject, nation, quality or condition. etc.

And #1129 (Primary Root) A verb meaning to build, build up, rebuild, construct.  The word is used literally to describe the construction of many things.  The main areas of its use are: to build a city (Gen. 11:4), house (Gen. 33:17).  It describes the construction of the temple of the Lord on the earth (I Kings 3:1; 5:18; 6:2; Psalms 78:69), as well as Jerusalem (Psalms 147:2).  It means to build fortified cities (2 Chron. 11:5), to fortify (1 Kings 15:22; 16:24).  It has the sense of rebuilding something (Joshua 6:26; Amos 9:14).

Let’s see what it looks like in Hebrew:

1121 Final NunBet ben (bane); from OT:1129

1129 HeyNunBet  banah:

Bet Bet 2 = Divide or division.  Meaning: House, family; God’s word, God’s dwelling place

Nun Nun 50= Restoration, Holy Spirit, Jubilee.  Meaning: Life or action

Hey Hey 5= Grace.  Meaning: Revelation-5 is the number of Torah, Behold, Give Attention (if it comes at the end of a word, the revelation or what we need to behold is found in the letter just before it.)

Thus here are the treasures found in the word ‘SON’ as applied to the Son of God:

God gave us His Son, One who would bring a Division to create God’s Family, His
Dwelling Place.  He would build, rebuild, or construct God’s temple here on earth..  In that house or temple He would bring Restoration, the Holy Spirit and Jubilee.  He would demonstrate His Grace (the power to accomplish God’s will) bringing Revelation pointing us back to Give Attention to God’s Word-Torah, coming from the Life of God in Him.

What an assignment for this Son of God.

John 1:1-5 says: In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.

John 3:35-36 says:  The Father loves the Son, and has given all things into His hand. 36 He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.”

Hebrews 3:1-6 says: Therefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our confession, Christ Jesus, who was faithful to Him who appointed Him, as Moses also was faithful in all His house. For this One has been counted worthy of more glory than Moses, inasmuch as He who built the house has more honor than the house. For every house is built by someone, but He who built all things is God. And Moses indeed was faithful in all His house as a servant, for a testimony of those things which would be spoken afterward, but Christ as a Son over His own house, whose house we are if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm to the end.

And finally, John 1:14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

See you tomorrow and discover how WONDERFUL He is. In the meantime, let’s demonstrate who He is by living His life with all we meet today.
