No one knows what the door looked like but these are the colors that were woven along with white.
Every house needs an entry door and God’s House was no exception. The Tabernacle Door speaks volumes about Yeshua and us. Let’s get started.
And thou shalt make a hanging for the door of the tent, of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen, wrought with needlework. Exodus 26:36 KJV
In other versions, the writers call this door a curtain or a screen. Leviticus 1:1-3 mentions another interesting name.
And the Lord called unto Moses, and spake unto him out of the tabernacle of the congregation, saying,
2 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, If any man of you bring an offering unto the Lord, ye shall bring your offering of the cattle, even of the herd, and of the flock.
3 If his offering be a burnt sacrifice of the herd, let him offer a male without blemish: he shall offer it of his own voluntary will at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation before the Lord.
They translated the word ‘congregation’ as ‘meeting’ in other versions of the Bible. The tent of meeting or tabernacle of meeting was the place where priests gathered on feast days. And other appointed times to worship and pray.
Only priests could enter the Holy Place. But when Yeshua came, He said in John 10: 7 & 9, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep. I am the door: by Me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.
As believers, we are His sheep. He is our Shepherd and our King.
1 Peter 2:9 also says of believers, But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;
As members of God’s household, His children, we are part of His royal priesthood and have entrance into His house through the Door of our King.
This study already headed in a direction I did not expect. Another door that is presenting itself is the Passover Door. Exodus 12:21-24
Moses called for all the elders of Israel and said to them, “Pick out and take lambs for yourselves according to your families, and kill the Passover lamb. 22 And you shall take a bunch of hyssop, dip it in the blood that is in the basin, and strike the lintel and the two doorposts with the blood that is in the basin. And none of you shall go out of the door of his house until morning. 23 For the Lord will pass through to strike the Egyptians; and when He sees the blood on the lintel and on the two doorposts, the Lord will pass over the door and not allow the destroyer to come into your houses to strike you. 24 And you shall observe this thing as an ordinance for you and your sons forever.
The Jews were saved because they were in their houses with blood-marked doors.
Again, as believers in Yeshua, we live in Him. He is our Tabernacle and it is His blood on our Door.
Okay, let’s get on to the colors. “…blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen…”
Blue: Blue is the color of heaven.
1 Corinthians 15:47 The first man (Adam) was of the earth, made of dust; the second Man (Yeshua) is the Lord from heaven.
John 3:13, 31 No one has ascended to heaven but He who came down from heaven, that is, the Son of Man who is in heaven.
He who comes from above is above all; he who is of the earth is earthly and speaks of the earth. He who comes from heaven is above all.
Purple: Purple is the color of royalty.
King Belshazzar in Daniel 5 declared this before Daniel read the words Yahweh wrote on the wall.
“Whoever reads this writing, and tells me its interpretation, shall be clothed with purple and have a chain of gold around his neck; and he shall be the third ruler in the kingdom.” Daniel 5:7
Daniel became part of the royalty, clothed in purple.
They dressed our King in purple and mocked Him.
So then Pilate took Jesus and scourged Him. 2 And the soldiers twisted a crown of thorns and put it on His head, and they put on Him a purple robe. 3 Then they said, “Hail, King of the Jews!” And they struck Him with their hands. John 19:1-3
Scarlet: Scarlet is the color of sacrificial blood.
Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war. His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He had a name written that no one knew except Himself. He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. Revelation 19:11-13
Fine Twined Linen: This was a white fabric. White is the color of Righteousness in the Bible.
In His days Judah will be saved, And Israel will dwell safely; Now this is His name by which He will be called:
THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS. Jeremiah 23:6
For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. 2 Corinthians 5:21
Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready.” 8 And to her it was granted to be arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright, for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints. Revelation 19:7-8
These colors declare that Yeshua is the Door. They were woven together as a beautiful entryway to the Holy Place. The needleworkers did not weave any angels or animals into the cloth. It was Yeshua alone Who made the way for the priests of Israel and the new covenant priests to enter.
The next part of the instruction is about how they hung the door.
And you shall make for the screen five pillars of acacia wood, and overlay them with gold; their hooks shall be gold, and you shall cast five sockets of bronze for them. Exodus 26:37
The five pillars of indestructible acacia or shittim wood. This wood represented Yahweh’s victory of good over evil forever. It is a picture of His zeal and His judgment seen on the cross. He triumphed over the enemy with the sacrifice of Yeshua who now lives forever.
The gold represented Yahweh’s never-ending divinity, His covenant that shone from every covered piece of furniture, every board, ring, and stave.
The five pillars could represent a couple of different things.
The names of Christ: Wonderful, Counsellor, The Mighty God, The Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace
Yeshua is also the Living Word. He came to interpret the Torah — the first five books of the Bible.
Or it could represent grace. The number five represents grace throughout the Bible as well. Yeshua was the Door of Grace.
And in conclusion, these beautiful gold pillars were placed in sockets of bronze/brass. This metal represents Yahweh’s judgment on sin is evident in the Outer Court furnishings. The pillars secured in these bronze sockets mark Yeshua’s victory over sin and the opportunity to enter a new life washed clean with a new identity.
2024 is the Biblical year 5784, the year of the open door. That statement is packed with treasure that we can’t cover today. But again, Abba invites all into His house through the one and only Door – Yeshua Ha Mashiach. – Jesus the Messiah – the Anointed One. It will be a volatile year and a year of great harvest. There is joy in the House of the LORD. Enter in the DOOR is open.
