On September 23-Rosh Ha Shanah, I was spending my usual time with the Lord.  I poured out intercession and petitions for many who are in crisis and asked Him to purify my soul.  Outside a rain storm was brewing after almost 3 months of drought.  As the thunder boomed, I asked Him to share His heart with me.

“My ways are not your ways.  What you are expecting with be demolished by what I am sending.  No false fronts.  No after thoughts of renovation.  You see, I am doing a new thing.  Do you not perceive it?

Alone, in the quiet you will find Me.  You must pull away from everything and still your mind to hear My whispers of instruction and comfort.

I am not a god that lies or promises things that fail to materialize.  I am a God of order and responsibility.  What I tell you shall be done.  Not how you expect.  Not in your timing.  But My will, will prevail.

Set aside your expectations and sit with Me.  The time is short for instructions.  You must listen and act as I direct.  No complaining.  No analyzing or second guessing.  Just Do It.

It’s time for the harvest and I am calling laborers.  Will you respond–without your worldly tools and mindsets, looking to ME alone to equip you for every encounter?

Trust in the Lord with all your heart

Lean NOT on your own understanding

In ALL your ways acknowledge ME

And I will direct your path through the flood and through the fire.  You will come out without even the smell of smoke.

Follow ME.  We have work to do.

I believe my expectations were for a short lived, swift move of God to wipe wickedness from the earth and establish His will.  Many were expecting the Rapture. Neither happened.  Many are disheartened and the enemy is using all of it to divide–but God is NOT done.  In fact He has only begun.  May we be found faithful to seek His face alone and do His will in the very trying times ahead is my prayer.
