I woke up today with Israel on my mind.  Tonight (August 12th) at sundown, a historic day begins for Israel.  It is the day that marks the destruction of the first and second temples and many other enemy attacks with dire consequences.  It is the 9th of Av on God’s calendar. 

If you have been following the news at all, you know that nations are gathering around Israel and threatening to annihilate her—wipe her from the face of the earth.  Iran is shouting its nuclear capability.

So, I prayed, “Awaken me LORD to Your will.  How can I partner with You.”

Immediately, I heard,

Hear Me now. My arm is not short that it cannot save. Prayers arise as incense to My throne. Many are praying and believing. I will not disappoint. Stand in faith and continue to stand. The war has just begun, and many will be the causalities. But fear not. I am the God who sees and the God who hears. From before the beginning of time, My Word shall stand. Nothing can stop what I am about to do. Your ways are not My ways, but My ways have a swift and lasting impact. Stand still and see My hand move. No one in heaven, earth, or under the earth, is My equal. Little by little and bit by bit, I am restoring what the enemy has stolen. Be at peace and stand in faith.

Then this scripture came to mind:

Thus says the Lord, Who gives the sun for a light by day, The ordinances of the moon and the stars for a light by night, Who disturbs the sea, And its waves roar (The Lord of hosts is His name):

“If those ordinances depart From before Me, says the Lord, Then the seed of Israel shall also cease From being a nation before Me forever.”

Then this one:

Jeremiah 1:12 Then the LORD said to me, “You have seen well, for I am ready to perform My word.”

And this one:

Isaiah 55:11  So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.

I believe this word is not only for Israel but for the United States.  Together, what happens in our nations affects the entire globe.  When the warring nations of the Middle East speak out against Israel they also speak out against the ‘West’—the United States.

2 Chronicles 7:14 must be at the top of our priority list in both nations. 

If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, THEN I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

If Jesus Christ is our Lord and Savior, we are His people. Israel and the U.S. have turned their backs on God and His word.  God is ready to move, and He will.  Let’s do our part.

If you have not turned from God and His word, pray as Ezra and Daniel prayed (read Ezra 3 and Daniel 9).  They identified with the sins of their nation, and God heard and answered their prayers.

Remember to pray for Israel from sundown on August 12th to sundown on August 13th. God is listening, and He will answer.
