The Framework – Part 2 – The Sockets

There is a treasure in this key piece of the Tabernacle. The word tenon that we investigated last time was Strong’s number 3027, יָדוֹת in Hebrew. We uncovered the meaning of the letters.

The (Yod) right hand of God’s power allowed or opened the (Dallet) Door for all impoverished men of the earth to enter life. He (Vav) secured and connected us by the Nail (Yeshua) to (Tav) Covenant and Sealed us as His own. Finished and Complete.

Today, we will examine the silver sockets that stabilized the tenons. If you remember, we considered the meaning of silver in our discussion about the fence around the courtyard.

In Bible times, silver was the price of blood as seen in the story of Judas. Here is my paraphrase of Matthew 26:14-16, and 27:3-9.

Judas Iscariot, one of the twelve disciples, went to the chief priests and said, “What are you willing to give me if I deliver Him (Jesus) to you?” The chief priests counted out to him thirty pieces of silver . . .

Later, after he betrayed Jesus, Judas returned the thirty pieces of silver.

The word Silver is Strong’s #3701 – כֶּסֶף Defined as silver (from its pale color), or money.

But the letters will tell us more:

Kaf 20 = Anointing of the hand on the head, Redemption. Means: To Bend Down, Surrender, Palm of the Hand, Wing – Good works with our hand in Yeshua

Samekh 60 = Pride, Conceit, Earthly. Picture: A Tree propped up by a piece of wood. Means: To Lean Upon, a Prop or Aid, Hold, Assist or Support – the heart of God

Pey/Fey 80 = New Governmental Order. Means: Mouth, to Speak, Open or Beginning.

Silver, then, is a picture of Redemption— It is (Samekh) God’s heart, assisting, and supporting us with (Kaf) Redemption, and (Pey) giving us A New Beginning.

But how about the word ‘sockets’? This word, like the word tenons, gave me a reason to celebrate the astounding ability of God. He chose the perfect letters to explain its meaning and to reveal His love and care for us. Are you ready?

Here we go. The word SOCKETS is Strong’s #134 – אֶדֶן

From the same as #113 אָדוֹן (in the sense of strength) base, pedestal, socket (strong, firm)

In the Bible, it describes:

A. pedestals of gold on which marble pillars set

B. pedestals of the earth, the foundation of the earth

C. pedestals, bases, or sockets on which the Tabernacle stood

Here are the letter meanings:

Aleph 1 = God – Echad – Unity, Unique (no other like it) Means: Ox head—Strength or LeaderMost Important, First – The Strength and Power of the leader

Dallet  4 = Earth or creation. Means: Door, Gate, Impoverished man, to come from indicates a pathway, a place of decision, or an entrance to life or death.

Final Nun  700 = Means: Life or Action

(Aleph) God in Unity with the Strength and Power of the Leader opens a (Dallet) Door for Impoverished men of the whole earth to (Final Nun) enter into life or action.

But exploring a little deeper, the primary root has more treasure. Let’s look at #113. Number אָדוֹן ,134 (the number for sockets) comes from this same root. It is pronounced adone– From an unused root meaning to rule.

The King James Version translates #113 in the following manner. Lord, master or masters, Lord, owner, or sir. In many Bible translations, the word or name Adonai is a substitution for these words. The name ‘Lord’ ( Strong’s #136) shares #113 (אָדוֹן) for its root word. Lord, with this root, is only used with the proper name for God.

It is the same three letters as #134 with one extra letter—Vav—the nail—Yeshua. Once again, He is right in the middle of the sockets as He is in the tenons. He is our foundation.

So, we discover that the tenons anchored into the Lord—our Redeemer. And the letters declare it.

Silver speaks of redemption, atonement, or ransom money—the price of a soul.

1 Peter 1:18-21 “… you were not redeemed with corruptible things, like silver or gold, from your aimless conduct received by tradition from your fathers, 19 but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot. 20 He indeed was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you 21 who through Him believe in God, who raised Him from the dead and gave Him glory, so that your faith and hope are in God.”

1 Timothy 2:5-6aFor there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself a ransom for all…

1 Corinthians 3:9-11 NKJV

For we are God’s fellow workers; you are God’s field, you are God’s building. 10 According to the grace of God which was given to me, as a wise master builder I have laid the foundation, and another builds on it. But let each one take heed how he builds on it. 11 For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.

In the Message Bible

Or, to put it another way, you are God’s house. Using the gift God gave me as a good architect, I designed blueprints; Apollos is putting up the walls. Let each carpenter who comes on the job take care to build on the foundation! Remember, there is only one foundation, the one already laid: Jesus Christ.

So, sockets are full of the revelation of our Savior. He is the foundation for the Tabernacle and He is our foundation—His Tabernacles here on earth. We can’t put our lives into anything more secure or trustworthy. Without Him, our lives collapse.

He reconciled us to Yahweh. 2 Corinthians 5:18-19. Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation, 19 that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation.

Also, note that these foundational sockets are the lowest portion of the Tabernacle construction. So, do you see the humility of this? Philippians 2 flashes on my inner screen:

Therefore if there is any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and mercy, 2 fulfill my joy by being like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind. 3 Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. 4 Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.

5 Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, 6 who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, 7 but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. 8 And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. Philippians 2:1-8

This was the lifestyle model Yeshua left us for the Kingdom. He lived waiting on God for instruction and obeyed without delay. He wasn’t interested in His reputation but lived to glorify God. He didn’t go unless God sent Him or speak unless God told Him to speak. He didn’t try to fulfill His assignment on His own or use worldly ways. Yeshua sold out to God and His will.

We all have some work to do, including myself. To be His disciple is to be like Him. Let’s wait on Him for instructions this week and move forward in humility to fulfill His will. Let’s sink our tenons into His redeeming grace and power and live displaying our King and His Kingdom.

Shalom ♥
