Over the last seven weeks, we looked closely at the seven branches of the Lampstand/Candlestick. We uncovered the significance of each one and what they bring to us as believers in Yeshua. Revelation 2 begins with God speaking to the church in Ephesus about their lives and their Lampstand.
“To the angel of the church of Ephesus write,
‘These things says He who holds the seven stars in His right hand, who walks in the midst of the seven golden lampstands:
2 “I know your works, your labor, your patience, and that you cannot bear those who are evil. And you have tested those who say they are apostles and are not, and have found them liars; 3 and you have persevered and have patience, and have labored for My name’s sake and have not become weary. 4 Nevertheless I have this against you, that you have left your first love.
5 “Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent and do the first works, or else I will come to you quickly and remove your lampstand from its place—unless you repent.” Revelation 2:1-5
Today, some prophets have had dreams or visions about Yeshua walking across America or around the world, removing Lampstands. We will close out our study of the Lampstand by looking at what blessings disappear if He removes His Lampstand.
The Spirit of the Lord—This is the power source for all the branches. All the attributes of the Holy Spirit vanish.
Isaiah 61:1-3 – This speaks about Yeshua but since Holy Spirit is now in us, it speaks about us.
“The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me, Because the Lord has anointed Me To preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives, And the opening of the prison to those who are bound; 2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, And the day of vengeance of our God; To comfort all who mourn, 3 To console those who mourn in Zion, To give them beauty for ashes, The oil of joy for mourning, The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; That they may be called trees of righteousness, The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.”
John 14:15-17, 26 AMPC
If you [really] love Me, you will keep (obey) My commands.
16 And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, and Standby), that He may remain with you forever—
17 The Spirit of Truth, Whom the world cannot receive (welcome, take to its heart), because it does not see Him or know and recognize Him. But you know and recognize Him, for He lives with you [constantly] and will be in you.
26 But the Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, Standby), the Holy Spirit, Whom the Father will send in My name [in My place, to represent Me and act on My behalf], He will teach you all things. And He will cause you to recall (will remind you of, bring to your remembrance) everything I have told you.
The Spirit of Wisdom – We discovered that Spiritual wisdom is creative. It provides solutions to problems that have never been seen before and it protects us.
Examples: Healing a blind man by putting mud in his eye? (John 9:1-7)
Filling seven large water vessels to the brim with water and it became the best wine? (John 2:1-10)
Paying a temple tax by catching a fish with a coin in its mouth. (Matthew 17:24-27)
(He) God by wisdom made the heavens. (Psalm 136:5a) There were never heavens before this time. He spoke them into being.
But whoever listens to me (wisdom) will dwell safely, And will be secure, without fear of evil. Proverbs 1:33
The Spirit of Understanding – The Spirit of Understanding gives us supernatural, secret insight into His Word. Understanding illuminates His Word, so we know what it means and how it applies to us. Here are a couple of examples:
Moses had the blueprints for the Tabernacle, but the artisans needed to know how to create them. Exodus 36:1 tells us, “And Bezalel and Aholiab, and every gifted artisan in whom the Lord has put wisdom and understanding, to know how to do all manner of work for the service of the sanctuary, shall do according to all that the Lord has commanded.”
Paul wrote a prayer in Ephesians 1:17-18 that many of us still pray today…May the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints.
The Spirit of Counsel –When we looked at the Hebrew meaning of Counsel.
The Spirit of Counsel looks into the window of our soul. It sees and understands how to pull us toward righteous living and brings revelation to help us. We can go to many people for counsel but only the Spirit of Counsel will give us what we need.
There are many plans in a man’s heart, nevertheless the Lord’s counsel—that will stand. Proverbs 19:21
The Spirit of Might – Physical strength is not the only way might is manifest. We may go to God wanting to know a matter. He answers with wise counsel. But we may think we lack the power to follow through. We may question our physical ability, mental capability, courage, or willingness. It is time then to ask God for the Spirit of Might.
Let’s look at Luke 1:30-38,
Then the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. 31 And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name Jesus. 32 He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Highest; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David. 33 And He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of His kingdom there will be no end.”
34 Then Mary said to the angel, “How can this be, since I do not know a man?”
35 And the angel answered and said to her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God. 36 Now indeed, Elizabeth your relative has also conceived a son in her old age; and this is now the sixth month for her who was called barren. 37 For with God nothing will be impossible.”
38 Then Mary said, “Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her.
When Gabriel spoke the words to Mary, the call appeared impossible. Yet, the Spirit of Might was present to give her the courage or faith needed to say yes.
The Spirit of Knowledge is God working with His right hand of power to help us see, understand, and experience Him. We will know His will, by the Word and by the Spirit. Through this KNOWLEDGE, He leads us to the death of self and life in Him.
Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, 3 as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, 4 by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. 2 Peter:2-4
When we know God through the Spirit of Knowledge, we know Him by experience. We know His will, and have access to the One who knows everything. He has the solution for every problem and the answer for every question. We know how to speak and act in every situation. Faith in Him and His covenant enable us to do mighty things with Him. Knowing Him builds our trust, and obedience increases as a natural outflow.
The Spirit of the Fear of the LORD is the impartation of the desire to please God and to obey Him. The more we know Him, the more we want to walk with Him and be who He created us to be. It is not a have to out of fear of punishment, but a want to out of love and knowing who He is.
As believers, we have a choice. The pressures to deny the LORD and not walk in His ways are great and will increase in these end-times . If we don’t choose to follow Him, we will lose the most powerful help available to man—the Holy Spirit. May God find us standing in truth and living by His Light. This is my prayer.
I hope you have enjoyed learning about the Lampstand/Candlestick. Next time we will go on to the Altar of Incense.
Shalom ♥
